Healthcare #1: Health related illnesses (anxiety, headaches, nausea, ulcers, sleeplessness, skin rashes, irritable bowel syndrome, high blood pressure, tearfulness, loss of self-confidence, and depression) because of bullying, harassment and biases which continues to be a hidden problem within many workplaces. The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development found that 20% had experienced some form of bullying or harassment over the past two years. The survey also reported that the groups most likely to become victims of bullying and harassment are black and Asian employees, women and people with a disability. The organisation performance is derailed because of absent staff being affected by stress and ill health, and reduced work output and quality of service is significantly compromised.
Inclusion #2: All employees should be offered the opportunity to participate and contribute to, the progress and success of an organisation. When an employee identifies a need, they should be asked how the environment or means of communication can be adapted to ensure inclusion.
Diversity #3: In the UK there has been a significant growth of diverse communities who present with complex health care needs, therefore positive patient experience could be enhanced by hospitals ability to attract, retain, and develop the top-quality, diverse professionals who will best serve those communities and fulfill cultural and social needs.
